Volume

Volume is a measure of how many times an asset has been traded.

Volume is a measure of how many times an asset has been traded. This can be measured in the amount of the asset or the asset pair it is being traded for, such as the U.S. dollar. Volume may refer to a specific market or to the net volume across all markets. Volume may also be segregated by asset pair, with a different volume for each asset the base asset is being traded for. For example, the volume for Bitcoin bought with U.S. dollars and the Bitcoin bought with Euros could be segregated. Volume can measure any time period, but is usually a measure of a given day’s trades.
